Jennifer Ugwa is a first-year graduate student focused on investigative and narrative storytelling at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism from Nigeria, where she reported extensively on environmental issues, health, business and women in conflict for regional and international platforms. As a reporter for Oakland North and Richmond Confidential, the UC Berkeley journalism school publications, she concentrated on covering transportation and how sector policies affect residents. Jennifer is passionate about topics that intersect with environmental issues and social justice. Currently, she is exploring the effects of AI on the environment.
