Summer Fellow, Inside Climate News

Naaja Flowers is a proud Brooklyn native, writer and civic organizer, currently studying journalism at Hampton University, “The Standard of Excellence.” Her work centers on reproductive justice, youth civic engagement and health policy, with a growing interest in science reporting and public health storytelling. On campus, she serves as an editorial writer for HerCampus and president-elect of the Student Government Association, where she advocates for accessible scholarships and improved health infrastructure. As a 2025–2026 cohort member of the HBCU Science Journalism Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she aims to build on her reporting with Inside Climate News and broaden its impact by connecting climate, health and community-driven storytelling across institutions.
