Science Friday

Rasha Aridi is a producer at public radio’s Science Friday, an award-winning public radio show dedicated to sharing high-quality, fact-checked, and trustworthy science news and educational programming.

While studying wildlife conservation at Virginia Tech, Rasha realized she had way more fun talking about science than actually doing it. She then pivoted into journalism and has written for outlets like Science, Smithsonian, and The Guardian. Before coming to SciFri, she worked for NPR’s Short Wave and Science Vs. from Gimlet Media.

Rasha will work with Science Friday’s Director of News and Audio, John Dankosky, to produce a series of broadcasts that raise awareness about nuclear threats and climate change.

Rasha loves stories about weird critters, science adventures, and the intersection of science and history. When she isn’t nerding out about science, you can find her on an outdoorsy adventure, reading, or trying (and failing) to leash-train her cat.
